Tennis in Port Douglas

There may be some weary bodies and sunburned necks around the village after this weekends Port Douglas Tennis Club  Mens/Ladies singles and Doubles Tennis Championships.

 

Held over two days at the well maintained public tennis courts on Port Douglas road, only a couple of hundred meters from town and 4mile beach, the 2011 champions were decided in near perfect conditions.

 

After a tough schedule of concert watching and socialising, tending to duties at Hibiscus Resort and Spa   as well as working a private function at the Sheraton Mirage in Port Douglas , the author was perhaps excused for being a bit tired. Otherwise, who knows if he would have been capable of progressing further than first round defeats in both singles and doubles?!?! 

 

Oh well….there is always next year. It’s just so cool knowing that there are so many activities available to all who live or visit this amazing are….more about some outdoor social soccer to come…..
